The
Boys
& Girls Club of Garfield announces the 2012 Great Futures Start Here Annual
Campaign as part of their overall 2012 Fundraising Plan. At the Great Futures Start Here Beefsteak on
April 20, 2012 Board President, Lou Ann Visotcky, and Vice Chair of the Annual
Campaign Leo McGuire kicked off the 2012 Annual Campaign having 100%
participation from the Board of Trustees and having already raised $6,000
toward the overall goal of $50,000
The
Boys & Girls Club of Garfield raises funds to help prepare local youth to
reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Scheduled
to run through June 2012, the Great Futures Start Here annual campaign has a
goal to raise at least $50,000, primarily from individuals, businesses,
corporations and foundations
Laura
Amerman, Chair of the Annual campaign said, “We are proud to announce that to
date, our campaign has raised $6,000 as a result of gifts from 100 percent of
our board members. All we need now is
the rest of the Boys & Girls Club of Garfield community to show their
support, and we will be able to reach or exceed our goal. The more support we
receive from individuals, foundations, and businesses the less reliant we need
to be on sources of funding, such as grants and corporate contributions that
are beyond our control. The Board of
Trustees have done job providing leadership to this years campaign”.
Leo McGuire stated “This is your opportunity to make
a lasting difference in the life of a child. As an adult, you know having a
dream gives you a sense of purpose for a lifetime. A child’s voice relays wisdom that resonates
for generations. Our Boys & Girls
Club helps our children by equipping them with the tools to succeed both
academically and civically. “Great Futures Start Here,” and you can help make
dreams a reality with a donation to the 2012 Annual Campaign. The Club is making usre that kids are
successful academically, socially and emotionally. ”
Additionally is it so important that local teachers and school administrators
whole-heartedly endorse and support the programs offered at the Club. Anna Sciacca, Board of Trustees and the
Garfield Middle School principal states:
“The Boys and Girls Club offers an exemplary
extended day program that is tailored to the interests of middle school
students. The diverse selection of extracurricular activities and the tutoring
component make it a perfect place for middle school kids to learn and have fun
in a safe and nurturing environment.”
Educators believe in Club programs because they
positively impact the youth in our community.
